Effective January 1, 2026, certain products sold in California will include a Covered Battery-Embedded Product Recycling Fee. This fee is mandated by California Senate Bill 1215 (SB 1215).
A “covered battery-embedded product” is a product that contains a battery that cannot be readily removed by the consumer using common household tools. Bath & Body Works, Inc. products that contain covered embedded-batteries and are subject to these requirements include Light/Sound Pocketbac (Hand Sanitizer) Holders and Soap Holders.
Battery Chemistry Information
All covered battery-embedded products sold by Bath & Body Works, Inc. contain either CR 1220 & CR 2032: Lithium Manganese Dioxide (Li/MnO2) batteries.
Recycling Information
In accordance with California recycling requirements, these covered battery-embedded products should not be discarded in household trash. When the product reaches end-of-life consumers should recycle it through an authorized California Covered Electronic Waste (CEW) collection or recycling program.
